Fryer oil storage containers are essential equipment for any commercial kitchen. In the fryer cleaning and oil filtration process you need to store the used and spent oil and easily move it around as needed as effectively as possible.
Safety is a huge factor when it comes to handling boiling hot cooking oil. There have been countless horror stories about foodservice staff suffering from severe burns due to kitchens dropping the ball on health and safety protocols and cutting corners with their equipment. An example of what can happen can be read in this article where a McDonald’s worker slips and falls onto a bucket of boiling oil suffering severe burns to her arms and legs.
Oil storage and transportation pots and pails need to not only be food compatible, but also have all the necessary safety features in place to avoid accidents. Why are MirOil pots and utility pails so safe?
MirOil have 2 kinds of storage containers available: Utility and measuring pails, and filter pots. Both can be used for safe storage AND transportation but the pails are specially designed for transportation and storage, and the pots are specially designed for use in the filtration process
- Miroil pots have a low profile to fit under most drain valves so that you can more easily drain the deep fryer directly into the pot.
- MirOil pots and utility pails have anti-splash lids and quick lock clips to prevent splashing or falling into the hot oil.
- MirOil filter pots and utility pails have been designed with comfort and easy pouring in mind. Heavy-duty handles allow for a comfortable grip and the utility pails feature heat shield tilting handles that move easily, as well as side handles.
- MirOil storage containers do not melt! The pots and pails are all made from robust and durable rust-resistant coated steel which can hold oil up to 300 degrees.
- Models with wheels are available on the pots to make the transportation of oil even easier to further reduce the risk of accidents or dropping the containers.
MirOil Utility and Measuring Pail
For the safe storage and transport of hot oil
The MirOil utility pails safely store and transport deep fryer oil and are designed to make the task of transporting hot oil easy and, most importantly, safe. These MirOil utility pails are not under-counter and are designed specifically for transporting hot oil, but it still makes for a good filtering vessel regardless.
These MirOil oil storage pails also have a heat shield tilting handle on the top that moves easily and also handles on the sides. The combination of handles helps you to easily carry a full load of fryer oil and also pour the hot oil out comfortably without burning your hands or arms.
For safe storage, you can engage the quick-lock clips mounted on the pail to create a super tight seal.

- 30LG utility pail with measuring gauge for up to 6 gallons
The model with a measuring gauge includes a graduated gauge to measure 5 gallons of oil in ½ gallon increments, making it easy to perform storage and measurement tasks at the same time.

MirOil Oil Filter Pots
For filtering and safer handling of hot oil
Miroil has specifically designed these pots for use in the oil filtering process and, like the utility pails, are also great overall for the safe handling of hot oil. They feature an anti-splash lid and quick lock clips to prevent splashing and reduce the risk of getting burned.
The Miroil filter pots have a low profile to fit under most drain valves so that you can easily drain the contents of your deep fryer directly into the pot. The MirOil B6PS filter bag and frame assembly is designed to fit perfectly over these pots.
The MirOil filter pots are made from ultra-durable and rust-resistant coated steel which can hold oil up to 300 degrees.

MirOil filter pots are available in 2 sizes with or without a mobility base:
- 60L pot for up to 7 gallons or 55lb
- 40L pot for up to 5 gallons or 35lb
- 60LC pot with mobility base for up to 7 gallons or 55lb
- 40LC pot with mobility base for up to 5 gallons or 55lb
Filter fryers with drain valves with MirOil pots:
For heavy crumb loads and faster filtering:
- Place the MirOil filter pot under the drain valve and drain the oil directly into the pot, without passing through a filter.
- Use a sauce pan and some oil from the filter pot to flish crumb residue from the bottom of the fryer
- Shut the fryer drain valve. The heavy crumb and sludge will settle to the bottom of the filter pot. Place a MirOil EZ Flow Filter across the top of the fryer.
- Use the sauce pan to return the oil to the fryer through the filter bag until the weight of the oil and pot is light enough to be lifted and poured safely
- Set the thermostat to frying temperature and turn the fryer on.
For normal crumb loads:
- Place a MirOil EZ Flow Filter across the top of the filter pot and carefully drain the oil through the filter
- Use a sauce pan and filtered oil from the filter pot to flush crumb residue from the bottom of the fryer into the filter pot.
- Shut the fryer drain valve
- Use the sauce pan to return the oil to the fryer through the filter bag until the weight of the oil and pot is light enough to be lifted and poured safely
- Set the thermostat to frying temperature and turn the fryer on.
For fryers with lift out fry pans WITHOUT drain valves
- For fryers without drain valves, use a sauce pan to remove warm oil from large lift out fryer pans. Lift the pan and pour oil into the filter pot only when the weight and level of the oil is low.
- Then, use either of the same procedures as described for fryers with drain valves.
Important safety guidelines for storing hot fryer oil
- Safety first! Always make sure all kitchen staff are sufficiently trained and wear the required personal protection equipment before working with hot oil.
- Always use a pot that will fit under the valve of your fryer and is big enough to hold all the oil. The oil level should be at least 2 inches below the top of the pot when the fryer is empty.
- Do not lock the pot lid in place if the oil sizzles. There may be water in the oil that can build dangerous steam pressure.
